Ahh, there’s nothing that ups the ante in a film like the old “time is running out” plot device.

It could be 60 seconds till a bomb explodes, one hour till your wife dies or 3 days until you’re forced to get a sex change. It almost never fails. In that way, it’s kinda lazy. I’d love to see a film make the film’s length be the time plot device. So that way the entire film is in real time.

But alas, we may have to wait for the 24 movie for that happen. So in honor of this plot device, and the film 30 Minutes or Less, which uses it, Vulture has put together a mashup from famous films to use the “time is running out” theme. Watch the mashup below. [New York Mag via Moviefone]
