The original Piranha 3D was a fun little movie with some smart stuff from directors Alejandre Aja and Gregory Levasseur. Sure, it wasn’t amazingly scary but it wasn’t supposed to be. It’s supposed to be like the Final Destination. You watch it for the deaths.

Piranha 3DD looks to replicate that, although it doesn’t appear to have the same magic from the trailer. Sure, David Hasselhoff plays himself and there are some crazy, and hilarious, looking deaths in the trailer. It all looks too crazy though. A piranha inside a girl’s stomach? A zombie guy eating a piranha? Machine gun leg? It’s either awesome or terrible. Of course, this could all blend into a mixed terribly awesome smorgashboard of hilarity, which would be awesome.
