X-Men: First Class screenwriters will write Top Gun 2
If you haven’t been paying attention to any advertising recently, The Thing and Footloose hit theaters this weekend. Yeah, a remake of an old movie and a prequel to an old movie. So it’s fitting we get news on the sequel to an old movie: Top Gun 2 has writers.
Two of the 6 credited writers on X-Men: First Class will get to scribe the film. Don’t be fooled though, this isn’t a sign of a guarantee of quality. It’s just nice to know they’ve worked on a good film. It fills you with some happiness and confidence.
What doesn’t fill you with confidence is that Paramount is moving ahead with it whether or not Tom Cruise or Tony Scott are on board. Jerry Bruckheimer will produce though. That’s not a guarantee of quality either, sorry. [Variety via Moviefone]
