When Harry Met Sally and You’ve Got Mail scripter Nora Ephron has passed away at 71
Nora Ephron passed away from leukemia this evening. She was 71.
Ephron was most famous for scripting When Harry Met Sally and writing/directing You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle. She did a lot of good, and paved some pavements for women in film. She also showed that women can embrace their sexuality. Of course, this is highlighted in that famous scene from When Harry Met Sally. You know the one. Yeah, the fake orgasm.
Ephron is survived by her husband Nicholas Pileggi and her two sons Jacob and Max Bernstein. Her last piece of work was 2009′s Julia and Julia, which starred Meryl Streep. [via The Hollywood Reporter]
