Watch Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Shia LaBeouf in the excellent trailer for gangster movie Lawless

Lemme introduce Lawless to you like this: Tom Hardy. Gary Oldman. Guy Pearce. Jessica Chastain. Shia LaBeouf.

Now lemme say this: Lawless is based on a book called The Wettest County in the World and it’s about a bunch of bootleggers (Hardy, LaBeouf and Jason Clarke) and them having to deal with the authorities. Guy Pearce is an agent and Gary Oldman is a BAMF.

That’s all you really need to know. Now, watch the trailer and come back.

Back? OK. That looks friggin’ amazing. No wonder The Weinstein Company wants to push this film for an Oscar. Hardy looks like he delivers another great performance, LaBeouf isn’t yelling “no, no no no no no!” fifty times at a giant robot and anything with Oldman is going to be good.

It opens August 31 and debuts at Cannes in May.
