If you’ve seen The Avengers you’ve probably realized that it’s a pretty complex film when it comes to sound. There’s sometimes hundreds of different things going on in a single scene. You can have Thor fighting with laser beams shooting all over the place and Hulk roaring and Iron Man flying overhead – it can get a bit crazy.

So it takes some talented folks to mix the sound and make sure it’s perfect. The sound engineers are essentially combining four films into one. SoundWorks Collection, a group that does nice little videos on the sound design of films, talked to Christopher Boyes about his work on The Avengers.
