Here we go, the trailer bonanza for the movies vying for Oscar gold have begun. We had Lawless a couple weeks ago and the trailer for Argo yesterday. Now we get the trailer for Gangster Squad, which is packed to the brim with talented actors.

Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Nick Nolte, Giovanni Ribisi, Emma Stone and Sean Penn highlight this film. It’s about a bunch of LAPD cops that try to keep the East Coast mafia off of the West Coast. Brolin, Nolte and Gosling play cops while Penn is the bad guy. It looks like Stone plays a relative of Penn’s that gets together with Gosling and complicates things.

It’s based on a series of articles by the Los Angeles Times. It’s looking pretty good and heavily stylized. It does look like there are going to be quite a few amazing set pieces, like the movie theater bit. If anything, it looks like a blast of a time.
