It’s a shame that Hunter S. Thompson won’t be able to watch The Rum Diary this weekend, when it comes out. Especially since its star, Johnny Depp, was fairly close to Thompson towards the latter stages of Thompson’s life.

For instance, the famous gonzo journalist and writer had no reservations about waking up one of the biggest movie stars in the world at 6:30 in the morning. It’s actually a fascinating clip, and it makes me sad. It also makes me want to watch the movie. Oh, and be warned: plenty of swearing, so it’s not safe for work.
