Yes, movie studios need to campaign to get their films nominated and won. It can get real political. Why do they do this? Well, people forget what movies they saw. If I were to ask you the top 5 movies and top 5 acting performances you saw this year would you be able to remember them? Probably not.

So movie studios campaign to get their people remembered. Members of the Academy make up the movie industry. Directors, actors, writers, producers, they’re all in there and they make the decision of who wins and who loses.

Warner Bros. wants them to choose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Although I don’t think it was the best movie of the year, it’s certainly a good film.
