Warner Bros. may delay Gangster Squad into 2013 to reshoot theater scene

One of Warner Bros. shots to do well at the Oscars is Gangster Squad. It looks awesome and it comes out September 7. The problem? There’s a scene in the film where gangsters shoot up a theater. After the terrible tragedy in Aurora, that scene wouldn’t sit well with people at all.

So Warner Bros. wants to reshoot the scene. Or cut it out of the film and replace it with another scene. The only thing is they don’t have enough time until the film comes out, so they’re considering just delaying it until January 2013.

It would buy them more time to re-think the scene and to get the actors and crew back together for what could be lengthy reshoots. Again, it’s a good thing Warner Bros. is being as thorough as possible in their actions regarding the Aurora shooting. [Variety]
