There’s one thing missing from The Hunger Games vision of the future: corporate sponsorship. Where are all the companies? Did they disappear? Is everything nationalized? How would people spend their hard-earned dollars on products they didn’t need!?
Or do the sponsors simply avoid a tournament that promotes the death of children? Either way, some smart and creative folks decided to mock up a commercial for a Coca-Cola’s fake advertising blitz during the games. Would you rather receive the gift of a canteen from a sponsor or an aluminum can filled with refreshing Coke that could double as a weapon? I think the choice is obvious. [via io9]
