Uh oh. Brad Pitt and World War Z director Marc Forster aren’t talking anymore, with three weeks of reshoots to go

I feel bad for World War Z. It’s a great book that was snatched up as a hot movie property with Brad Pitt set to star. Then Quantum of Solace (that should have been a giveaway) director Marc Forster stepped to the helm when Pitt selected him.

And now the movie has gone to hell. The script sucks apparently, and Damon Lindelof was hired to fix it but said it would take months. Then the movie, which cost $170 million, was sent for a bunch of reshoots and it doesn’t even have an ending and now, on top of it all, producer and star Pitt isn’t talking to the director.

Apparently, middle-men are taking directing notes from Forster to Pitt. And they still have a bunch of reshoots to do. It’s going to be a miracle if this movie is even decent. But it’s a shame that such a neat property has just gotten absolutely destroyed. Maybe next time. [Vulture via FilmDrunk]
