Movies often go through a lot of pre-production before everything is ready to shoot. This includes concept artists coming up with various looks to everything you see. Need a car that travels through time? Someone probably sketched it out first. Need a new look for Batman? Someone’s gotta sketch that out too.
And now we know what some of the original visions for both Spider-Man and The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man were. First, here’s a look at a more iguana-looking Lizard. I think I prefer this design to the one in the film, which looks way too much like a human.
And then we have a Lizard that looks like an alien.
Moving on to Spidey, this one looks heavily inspired by the web-head from Sam Raimi’s original films. I think I actually dig the new costume more.
And our final look for Spidey looks like it was dreamed up by someone who read a lot of Spider-Man 2099. I mean, check out that web cape. This one definitely wouldn’t have worked and was just a dude who was daydreaming. Right? OK, probably not. [Movies.com via IGN]
