This Is What Steven Spielberg’s ROBOPOCALYPSE Could Have Looked Like

At least the storyboards

We were supposed to get a Steven Spielberg film in 2014 called Robopocalypse. However, because Spielberg wasn’t amazingly happy with Drew Goddard’s script and because the budget wasn’t where it needed to be he decided to indefinitely delay the film. It’s not clear when or if we’ll ever see it made, so these storyboards provided by Comic Book Movie are our best look at the Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway starrer.

We see these robot spider things called Mechwolves chasing some human characters and attacking what looks to be metal suits of armor called exos. Yep, this is a movie that’s very similar to I, Robot or Terminator in that it deals with AI becoming sentient and trying to overthrow the human race. In this case, they use spider robots to accomplish their goals.

This action/chase sequence looks fairly fun though. I can only imagine what it would be like under the guiding eye of Spielberg, who hasn’t done anything action or adventure related in quite a while. After a couple of dramas, one overly sentimental one, it does feel like he should return closer to his wheelhouse. [Comic Book Movie]
