This engineer made a real-life, working Wall-E
I love you R2-D2, and Imma let you finish, but Wall-E is the cutest film robot of all time. The way he mechanically says his name and his love affair with Eve is just too adorable. How could you not love Wall-E and the pure emotion he delivers?
Engineer Mike Senna thought the same thing. And after building a working R2-D2 and seeing the reaction kids (and sick kids) had to it, he decided to build Wall-E next. The result is superb. It took him two years of 25 hours a week (after his day job) to complete the robot. It can move, interact with things and even talk. Yes, the signature Wall-E is here.
I’m surprised Disney doesn’t have these walking through the park, as they’re absolutely amazing. Senna does live in Orange County, so turning him into an Imagineer shouldn’t be that much of a stretch. Come on, Disney!
