These movie goers were treated to ads playing over the final minutes of Hugo
There is a dark side of digital projectors after all. In a Regal Cinema in New York, a screening of Hugo was absolutely ruined.
A tipster tells the Gothamist that the movie was stopped playing twice. And during the final minutes, advertising played over the movie. Because of digital projectors and the multiplex was huge, the problem went unchecked for far too long. No one noticed. At least none of the projectionists.
The movie goers did get a full refund, but I can’t help but wonder what Scorsese would think. His movie was absolutely ruined. You can watch the footage above. [Gothamist via The Verge]
