These behind the scenes Jurassic Park videos are mind-blowing
If you saw the first Jurassic Park you’ll know how realistic all the dinosaurs looked. This is because of the great work of Stan Winston, a four time Academy Award winning character creator.
He and his artists had a hand in creating Terminators, Aliens and dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. There’s a special effects school called the Stan Winston School of Character Arts that you can enroll in to learn all the tricks of the trade. It’s an online school, so you have to pay a fee and you get access to a wealth of videos teaching you special effects.
Their YouTube channel has a ton of stuff that teases you though. The best of it all is the Jurassic Park stuff. From a Raptor suit to a giant T-Rex eating what looks like styrofoam – this stuff is mind-blowing. The T-Rex still looks real, even though it has no sound and is controlled by some guy on the sidelines. [Stan Winston School via Movies.com]
