Ever noticed how in fight scenes in films characters can be really stupid? Like: HEY! He’s on the floor stop staring and STAB HIM! Or: Why are you listening to him speak about his evil plan!? SHOOT HIM DAMNIT.

They’re all techniques to elongate fights and to try to make them dramatic. One of the worst offenders is Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom  Menace. Lightsabers are dangerous weapons and properly using them should end someone’s life in seconds. However, Jedis like to jump around and completely miss their opponent.

Sure, these are movies and meant to be entertainment but a fight between great warriors should feel like a fight between great warriors. They should take advantage of opportunities that are presented. Not stand there or wait for someone to get up. [via Neatorama]
