The trailer for documentary The Exorcist of the 21st Century follows around a real, Vatican-approved exorcist

One of the hottest tickets in horror films has been the devil and exorcisms. The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Last Exorcism, The Exorcist, the list goes on and on. So it’s no surprise to see a documentary finally tackle it.

The difference here is that filmmaker Fredrik Horn Akselsen got to follow around a Vatican-approved exorcist named Jose Antonio Fortea. The Vatican has, and still sometimes does, perform exorcisms on people. Are these people deranged? Is this real? I don’t know. What I do know is that I’m interested in what Akselsen has to say on the subject.

The documentary follows the story of Fortea and a woman named Constanza. The woman says she’s been haunted by demons for 15 years and she enlists the help of Fortea to exorcise them. [io9 via Movies.com]
