I gotta give it to Warner Bros and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). There was much debate on what the animation for this film would be like: would they take a chance and make the biggest LEGO stop-motion film ever or CG everything up?
I thought there was no way they’d do a stop-motion LEGO film. I was very, very wrong. They’ve made the biggest stop-motion LEGO film of all time, with CG elements of course, and it looks fantastic. Oddly, this might be the first major movie that assembles some of the Justice League together. Yes folks, here’s a movie with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman in it!
Anyway, this looks pretty funny. I also think this movie is going to kill with the kids and is going to make a ton of money. But frankly, I think it looks awesome.
A simple LEGO builder is thought to be the Master Builder in this film and is recruited on a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the universe together. Yes, that’s the plot folks. They have to stop the bad guy from gluing everything together. This is my childhood on screen here. Cause I HATED when someone glued together my LEGOs.
The LEGO Movie comes out on February 7, 2014.
