THE INTERVIEW Will Be Available To Rent On YouTube, Xbox, Google Play And Sony’s Website Today
Want to watch The Interview but can’t get to one of the 300 theaters showing the film? Sony has just agreed to a deal with several Video-on-Demand providers to allow you to see the film for a rental fee of $5.99. You can also purchase the movie for $14.99. Here are the options:
Google Play: Users can head over to play.google.com and rent or purchase the film from the Movies and TV section. You’ll then be able to watch it on the Play Movies and TV app, as well as devices like Chromecast, Roku and Nexus Player.
YouTube: The movie will be available for rent at YouTube.com/movies. You can then watch it on the Internet, or on YouTube apps or on devices with YouTube apps.
Xbox: Microsoft’s Xbox Video platform will allow you to watch the movie on XboxVideo.com, Windows Phone devices, Windows 8, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
SeeTheInterview.com: The final option is a dedicated site that will allow you to purchase or rent the film directly from Sony Pictures. It’ll process payments through Stripe, a secure payment platform.
The movie goes on sale digitally at 10 am today. Yes, today: December 24, 2014.
