Here we go. It’s time for an all-out blitz from the marketers of The Hunger Games. If you thought this movie would make a nice $20 – $30 million in its opening weekend you should check yourself.
Early tracking numbers indicate the movie will make at least $70 million in its opening weekend and could rise as high as $100 million. Those are astonishing numbers, and it’s all helped by the excellent marketing. Even though The Hunger Games shares a lot with Twilight (at it’s heart it’s a love story about a girl choosing between two guys) it has enough to draw males who aren’t in its target demographic. Must be that whole battle for survival big brother vide it’s got going on.
And now they’ve released the first clip from the film, which shows Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) showing her skills off to potential sponsors (who would give her money for the games), but she finds they aren’t paying attention. So she does what is necessary. She demands their attention.
This movie is looking better and better. Keep an eye on it.
