Teacher slaps student repeatedly trying to re-enact Bridesmaids

You know when politicians and parental groups go crazy about a violent movie or video game because it’ll influence a child to do violent things? Yeah, they should probably apply that to teachers and R-rated comedies.

A teacher in Malibu, CA slapped a student repeatedly trying to re-enact Bridesmaids. Yeah, this actually happened. Apparently, the student had forgotten her textbooks on May 22. The teacher seemed to snap and made the 14-year-old girl stand up in front of the class. She then asked her whether she saw Bridesmaids and began to repeatedly slap her. She was trying to re-enact the following scene:

The student and her parents went to the authorities and the teacher has issued an apology letter, but the family doesn’t feel that’s enough. Yeah, that probably isn’t. Slapping a teenager trying to re-enact a movie isn’t excused by issuing an apology. What are you going to say? WHOOPS, but it was in a movie! Yeah, sorry. [The Daily Mail via FilmDrunk]

That scene wasn’t even a pivotal one in the film. Was she gonna stop if she slapped her back hard?

I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that she did it, or the fact that she asked a 14-year old girl if she saw an R-rated movie before she did it.
