Sony and Marvel MUST be confident in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man.

They’ve already set the date for the sequel: May 2, 2014.

I really doubt Sony would do this unless there was something they absolutely loved about this movie. First, The Amazing Spider-Man has to make back it’s budget, then Sony has to square off a budget for the sequel.

The trailer certainly looks amazing, and I love the enthusiasm Andrew Garfield has for Peter Parker and the character of Spider-Man. Hopefully this spills over into the film. [Deadline]
