EON Productions is going above and beyond with the next James Bond film. They’re lining up amazing acting talent in Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem and they’ve got an Academy Award winning director in Same Mendes.

Now they want to make Skyfall the first James Bond film to hit IMAX. I have little doubt in my mind this is due to the success of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and not a filmmaker decision like Christopher Nolan with The Dark Knight.

This is mostly because the press release says nothing about shooting with IMAX cameras. No no, unlike Ghost Protocol there will be no amazing IMAX scenes. The movie is going to be digitally remastered to work in the IMAX format. Kind of a bummer, I know. But hey, at least you get to see it in a larger screen. [Deadline]
