Should Daniel Craig be the longest serving Bond ever?

The recent run of Bond films have gone from friggin’ awesome (Casino Royale) to train wreck (Quantum of Solace) but the one constant in both films is Daniel Craig. He’s a fantastic Bond. And he could do 5 more films.

That is, if Bond producer Michael G. Wilson gets his way. Wilson basically says that there’s no one else that could play the part right now and that he’d like Craig to make 5 more Bond films, which would take him past Roger Moore’s 7 Bond films.

Daniel Craig is currently 43, another 5 Bond movies would take at least 12 years, which would conclude with him at about 55. Pierce Brosnan’s last Bond film was when he was 52. So he definitely could do it, especially if he stays in relatively the same shape.

As for Skyfall, Wilson believes it’s something special:

“The director Sam Mendes and Daniel are taking it back to a 60s feel – more Sean. I think that’s what the fans wanted. There’s a magical Goldfinger feel surrounding it all. It’s all very exciting. I can’t wait for people to see the movie because I think we’re making a very special Bond.”

That sounds good to me, as long as the story is actually coherent. [The People via Filmonic]
