Attention: Treasure Island is popular right now. We’ve got Michael Bay making a prequel series for Starz, a Treasure Island mini-series on SyFy and Pirates of the Caribbean (which is about pirates and treasure and islands) and then Muppets Treasure Island.

Now, Guy Ritchie’s Treasure Island. The story has been done to death so many times it’s pretty much turned into the girl from The Ring. Ritchie and his team did do another story that’s been done to death, Sherlock Holmes. And that worked out pretty well, so perhaps there’s a sliver of a silver lining here.

I just hope that silver lining isn’t Pirates of the Caribbean with Robert Downey Jr. Hey, actually – go for it Ritchie. [Deadline via FilmDrunk]
