Seth MacFarlane used motion capture to act out Ted’s movements
When you watch the Ted trailer you may laugh at it, wonder why the bear looks fake or just wonder who the hell thinks about a foul-mouthed bear.
Well, Seth MacFarlane does and he plays the bear. He doesn’t only voice the bear though, he acted out almost every scene as well. He had a motion-capture suit on that would register the cute teddy bear’s movements. So yes, he actually did hump that cash register.
It’s actually quiet impressive and shows you that the chemistry in this film may be pretty damn good. If the actors genuinely believe or feel like Ted is right there with them, then it’s easy for the audience to buy in to a walking-talking teddy bear who loves to crack dirty jokes and sleep with many different women.
