I must admit, this is pretty bold for LucasFilm. Or well… maybe they saw the potential for more money. Whatever. Either way, Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matt Grimes were given the keys to the castle that is Star Wars for their new animated show Star Wars Detours.

It basically takes all the Star Wars characters you know and love and puts them in funny situations, while altering the characters to make them more funny and referencing the movies in a comedic way. Basically, it’s kind of like if you and your friends got together and came up with crazy funny theories about what the Star Wars characters did in their downtime.

The first trailer is above, followed by two clips from the show. I have to say: I’m pretty excited for this. There’s no airdate yet, and no network (I’ll guess Cartoon Network). [via Movies.com]
