Rise of the Planet of the Apes screenwriters to tackle Jurassic Park 4

Long thought to be dead, Jurassic Park 4 is slowly coming back to life. Kind of like the dinosaurs in the original Jurassic Park. And it’s got some new ammunition: Rise of the Planet of the Apes screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver will be handling the script.

This is an extremely good sign, as it means Universal is hiring hot writers to work on what must be a priority project for them. Spielberg seems pretty keen to bring the world back to life, but he’s unlikely to direct as he’s got Robopocalypse on his plate after Lincoln. Instead, Joe Johnston, who directed Captain America and Jurassic Park 3, will probably get the directorial nod.

Jaffa and Silver showed they can handle creatures attacking humans while also giving those creatures a purpose and a motivation. Hopefully they can do the same for the dinosaurs. Oh, let’s not forget Rise did get pretty science-y. Clever girl. [IGN]
