Ridley Scott is feeling nostalgic. First, he’s doing a kind-of prequel to Alien in Prometheus and now a Bladerunner sequel.

Producer Andrew Kosove says the film will be original and take place in that same universe. No word on whether Harrison Ford will return in some way, but Kosove did say that’s up to Scott. He did strongly hint that Ford would not return.

Why? They want it to be as far away from the original as possible. It’s going to be it’s own film, basically. They also say they want to handle this as artistic as possible, and that they don’t want to make it commercial fodder *cough* Tron Legacy *cough* [24 Frames via Movies.com]
