The Blu Ray release of Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures is coming up soon, so Paramount wants to celebrate by throwing Raiders of the Lost Ark out on the IMAX format.

ScreenCrush reports that it hasn’t been announced yet but it’s definitely coming to the 70mm IMAX format. In fact, Spielberg confirmed it to the New York Times and helped convert the film to the bigger format. He said the following:

For me, it’s always been the bigger the screen, the better. It’s the only marked contrast we have to the generations that are seeing our movies on phones and hand-held platforms. It’s a complete relief to be able to see a film that many people have just experienced on a palm-sized platform technology, suddenly hurled at that them on an Imax-sized screen.

The film will play from September 7 to 13 and the Blu Ray collection hits on September 18. Check your favorite ticketing website or service to get tickets. Because really – this is probably going to sell out quick. [ScreenCrush via /Film]
