People v Larry Flint writers scripting Ridley Scott’s Monopoly

The best board game of all time is getting a movie, and it’s got some good head behind it.

Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski have written Ed Wood, The People v Larry Flint and 1408. Now they’ll tackle Monopoly.

So, what is a Ridley Scott version of Monopoly like? How could you possible craft a story about that type or board game? Well, firstly, it’ll probably be something like Wall Street or something similar. My guess it’s about a real estate mogul who goes from nothing to huge.

Or, this:

…developing a great story. It’s a very fun take. Ridley is still the perfect creative steward, because he creates these great, fictionalized worlds…Suffice it to say, it’s a story about a family with a history, and we’re projecting that into current times. But it’s not ‘Wall Street’. It’s more about property ownership and of the play-pattern of the game.

That actually sounds interesting, and I’m 100 percent sure it’ll be better than Battleship. Why? Ridley Mutha Effin Scott, that’s why. [Heat Vision via Comingsoon]
