Michael Bay says he’s making Transformers 4 to set up franchise for ‘next guy’
Michael Bay essentially is the Transformers franchise. His faults are the franchises faults and vice versa. But the next Transformers is going to be radically different from the previous three.
First, there’s going to be an all new cast. Second, they are going to redesign some of the robots. And third, Bay says the movie will be his last Transformers film and that he just wants to set up the franchise for the ‘next guy.’
It sounds like me that this is some sort of pre-reboot to a reboot that a new director will be doing. Why Bay agreed to this is beyond me, but millions and millions of dollars and a huge hit (admit it, Transformers movies make money) are probably too tempting to pass up. [LA Times]
