Marvel circles three actresses for Captain America: Winter Soldier lead. Who will get it?
Peggy Carter and Captain America’s relationship in Captain America: The First Avenger was damned heart breaking. Especially those last couple scenes. Sigh. Peggy, we’ll miss you.
For the sequel, Marvel is looking at bringing in a new love interest for Cap. Or maybe she isn’t a love interest. Apparently the role, which hasn’t been named officially, is assumed to be that of Sharon Carter. Sharon is Peggy’s niece, and she has a part to play in the Winter Soldier storyline. Guess what Cap 2 is called? That’s right – Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The following actresses are the final three. Let’s take a look.
Anna Kendrick
She might be the most well-known of the three, having appeared in Twilight, Up in the Air next to George Clooney, Scott Pilgrim and 50/50. Honestly, I don’t see Marvel choosing her unless there’s a comedic/awkward bend to Sharon. That’s what she’s best at, so I don’t see it.
Felicity Jones
Jones has been in some smaller stuff like Like Crazy and The Tempest. Like Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter) she’s from the UK. She literally just broke out onto the scene last year so it may be a bit difficult for her to get the park. Although Marvel can be surprising with their choices and aren’t afraid to take a risk.
Imogen Poots
My personal favorite choice. She’s also from the UK and has been in stuff like Fright Night, 28 Weeks Later, V For Vendetta and even earned a spot in a Terrence Malick film. Plus, she kind of reminds me of Atwell. If she indeed is going to play her niece then why the hell not, right?
