Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will reunite for The Wolf of Wall Street
It’s only been 2 years since Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio have made a movie together. Apparently that’s too long a break for the duo, as they’ve just committed to make a fifth movie together.
The movie is called The Wolf of Wall Street as is based on a memoir from Jordan Belfort, who was a hard-partying, drug addicted stock broker that was indicted in 1998 for money laundering and security fraud. Filming will begin this August, which will put its release date around Oscar season 2013.
The script is by Terence Winter, who’s better known for his awesome shows The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire. Yeah, that got you kind of excited huh? It will be DiCaprio and Scorsese’s fifth collaboration, after Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed and Shutter Island.
There’s a ton of talent behind this project, and even though it’s a story that’s been done to death (not to mention one that Americans are probably sick of) it’ll still be worth a watch. Hey, it’s Scorsese and DiCaprio after all. [Deadline]
