Listen to Hans Zimmer’s inspiration for The Dark Knight
Hans Zimmer is pretty awesome. The Inception soundtrack is fantastic, The Dark Knight’s is amazing and The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack is surely to be a great event.
How does he do this genius work of his? Zimmer has said in the past that he listens to a lot of other artists and draws inspiration from them for his soundtracks.
With The Dark Knight, one of the more trademark sounds is that quick and almost violent violin sound in the track Why So Serious? It plays during the bank heist at the beginning of the film. It works wonderfully.
Now a /Film reader thinks he has found the inspiration for that sound. And the similarities are amazing, and quite disturbing. They sound too similar. Almost like it was completely lifted off rather than created. Although it’s possible Zimmer seeked permission to use the sound, it does come off a bit badly. Listen, and watch, above and draw your own conclusions. [Slashfilm]
