Lily Collins nabbing the lead role in Sam Raimi and Diablo Cody’s Evil Dead reboot was huge news. It’s a star maker for her, potentially. But alas, mirror mirror on the wall, it wasn’t to be at all.

Collins has dropped out because of scheduling issues, according to Variety’s Jeff Sneider. This isn’t the end of the remake though, it’s still scheduled for April 2013. They just have to find a new up and comer to cast in the lead. I hear Selena Gomez is looking for some darker roles to try out. You can see Lily Collins next in Mirror, Mirror in mid March.
