Ten years ago this week The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring came out. It made Peter Jackson a star and spawned one of the greatest film trilogies ever.

Now Peter Jackson is taking us back to Middle Earth, and it’s just how I remember it. It’s fairly amazing that the tone is still there. It feels like the first three films, just from the trailer alone.

This movie will chronicle Bilbo taking Gollum’s ring, and sets up the events of the original film trilogy. December can’t come soon enough. Apple has the HD trailer.
