Joseph Gordon-Levitt will not be in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

Sad news for all of you that were looking forward to Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. It looks like Joseph Gordon-Levitt has dropped out of the project.

No, it’s not cause he sucked or he didn’t like Tarantino or there were some creative differences. His schedule just didn’t allow him too. You see, JGL has been working on his directorial debut Don Juan’s Addiction and the actor just doesn’t have the time to film his small role.

He told MTV:

No, I’m not going to get to do [Django Unchained]. I’d love to, but it just doesn’t work… I’ve been in touch with Quentin about it, and it was so cool to trust me to do this little part in his movie. I would have loved, loved to have done it. He’s one of my very favorite filmmakers, and he was really supportive of me directing and that meant the world to me.

Aww. Anyway, don’t be too sad. The cast still consists of Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson and Sacha Baron Cohen. Not bad, eh? [MTV via Slashfilm]
