Quentin Tarantino’s next film, Django Unchained, was already highly anticipated. Leonardo DiCaprio in a Tarantino film as a plantation owner? Jamie Foxx, being trained by Christoph Waltz, coming at him for revenge? Kurt Russell as DiCaprio’s assistant? What’s not to like about any of that. Especially after his return to form in Inglorious Basterds.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt may be joining the cast. No word on what role he would be playing, and it’s not confirmed yet but that sure would be something. Django Unchained starts filming in New Orleans in January and is set to be out Christmas 2012. [Variety via Comingsoon]
