So, Jonah Hill is taking serious roles seriously. Now, comedic actors usually take a stab at serious stuff every so often, but none do both comedy or drama for a long time.
Jim Carrey was successful with Eternal Sunshine and Adam Sandler did well in Punch Drunk Love. But after that? They went back to comedy. Bill Murray has been, and continues to be, successful at both comedy and drama.
So maybe Hill becomes the next Bill Murray? That’s a bit premature, but he’s just landed a Martin Scorsese picture and his co-star is Leonardo DiCaprio. The film is called The Wolf of Wall Street and is about the rise and fall of a New York stock broker. Terrence Winter (Boardwalk Empire) is scripting.
