James Bond will now be drinking Heinekens rather than martinis
“Shaken, not stirred.” It’s a classic line that’s uttered in almost every James Bond film. Normally it’s used for when Bond orders his famous Vesper Martini. Now? Now Bond is going to be drinking Heinekens, and it’s going to sound ridiculous is he actually asks for a Heineken shaken and not stirred.
Ad Age has the report. Heineken has had a relationship with the Bond franchise for 15 years, but this time it’s going to be used in the film and they’re even going to make a Heineken commercial with James Bond.
I understad that you’ve got to make money and MGM isn’t in the best financial state but really? You’re just going to sell off character traits now? Bond is a martini man! What’s next? Is Toyota going to buy the car rights to James Bond one day? I really don’t want to see Bond rolling around in a Prius with a rocket launcher. Or hey, while we’re at it let’s sell off his suit rights to Banana Republic. Nothing says money like a Heineken-drinking, Prius-driving, Banana Republic-wearing James Bond. [ABC News]
