Are you excited? Can you feel this period piece invade your veins? You probably already read it in high school or middle school, but now you’ll get to see a bid budgeted version from Baz Luhrmann. And hey, Leo DiCaprio is Jay Gatsby, isn’t that fun?

Obviously, the big draw in this film is the cast. DiCaprio plays Gatsby, Tobey Maguire plays Nick Carraway, Joel Edgerton plays Tom Buchanan and Carey Mulligan plays Daisy Buchanan. Oh, and this movie is in 3D! Get hyped! I can’t wait to see Leo’s period suit show an extreme amount of depth! OR NO! The emotional drama will resonate more in THREE DIMENSIONS!

The movie hits theaters on Christmas Day, 2012. That’s the same day Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained arrives in theaters (also starring Leo). But really, who can resist a period drama in 3D? I can’t. [via The Playlist]
