Andy Serkis really deserves some kind of award. Unfortunately, Christopher Plummer in Beginners and distaste for motion capture will not let that happen.

But, you can still watch this scene from Rise of the Planet of the Apes, minus visual effects, and see how well Serkis did as Caesar. You can feel the emotion even without the CG added afterward. It’s just amazing. [HitFix via Slashfilm]
