Harry Potter director David Yates will make film adaption of Stephen King’s The Stand

David Yates has been making Harry Potter films for the past 4 years now and all have been fairly good and they’ve brought in billions of dollars for Warner Bros, so his next project was always going to intrigue people.

Plus he was a wanted man. Now Warner Bros has locked him and Harry Potter scribe Steve Kloves to adapt Stephen King’s The Stand for the big screen.

This is a pretty good fit, and it looks to be a multi-film deal as well, so Yates will have some time to craft his vision. The Stand is an apocalyptic tale of good and evil and he captured that epic, end of the world battle feel relatively well in the last Harry Potter so I’ll be looking forward to this.
