Guillermo del Toro will direct a stop-motion Pinocchio film
Guillermo del Toro, who’s best known for directing Hell Boy and Pan’s Labyrinth, happens to be a huge Disney fan. He loves all their animated films and that has carried over into his career as he’s produced a number of animated films like Puss in Boots and Kung Fu Panda 2. Now he’s going to direct an animated film.
And it’s going to be a stop-motion film for the Jim Henson Company. He’s going to co-direct this new take on Pinocchio with Mark Gustafson, who handled the animation for The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Del Toro is a busy man so there’s no telling when this will come out. He’s finishing up post production on Pacific Rim and he’s got projects like Disney’s Haunted Mansion on his docket. [The Wrap]
