Sad news for 300 fans: King Leonidas will not be returning. Or, at least in the form we know him in. Last Fall, producer Bernie Goldman said that there were parts for both Gerard Butler and Lena Headey in the sequel, even though the film has a completely different story.
Leonidas recently broke the sad news to MTV:
“Oh yeah, I’m not doing it. They’re filming [the '300' sequel] right now. I wish them the best, but it didn’t [work out]. It wasn’t really my thing.”
Nah man, totally not his thing. Gerard is above cameos now, ya heard? And man, building up all that muscle for a short role just isn’t worth it. You know what is worth it? Playing a Secret Service agent in Olympus Has Fallen. Or returning to the sequel for How to Train Your Dragon. 300 cameo? Please bro. Please.
The movie will move on of course. Yet, there is little word on whether Cersei Lannister (aka Lena Headey) will return. That Joffrey can be a handful so I’m not holding my breath. [MTV via The Playlist]
