George Lucas to alter Star Wars, again — But on Blu-ray

Good ‘ol George Lucas is, apparently, never happy with a finished project.

Because when Star Wars releases on Blu-ray in mid-September, he’ll be making more tweeks to the classic films and their stepchild prequels.

All the fixes are pretty minor, such as fixing the color brightness on the lightsabers that was lost when the films were digitized for DVD and streamlining the way Yoda looks in all three of the prequels.

If you remember Phantom-Menace Yoda was a puppet and in Episodes II and III he was digitally animated. After all, it would have been a bit silly for to have Count Dooku fight Kermit the Frog on a stick.

But — and this is a big but — There is no mention about the big fix.

I’m sorry, Han Solo still doesn’t shoot first.

Thanks for fixing some of my favorite movies George, again — I think?

Making new movies is hard. George Lucas proved that with Ep. 1-3. Far better to tinker and collect rent on the movies you’ve already made. I for one am hoping for a special edition of American Graffiti with new scenes containing CG hot rods.
