Fox is moving ahead with a sequel to found-footage superhero movie Chronicle
It only took $12 million to make Chronicle and it just hit about $100 million at the box office. So of course, 20th Century Fox is ready to take another journey into this original world of superheroes.
Max Landis, who wrote the first film, is back a second time but it’s not known whether the director of Chronicle, Josh Trank will be back. He’s kinda in demand right now. So much so that Sony is considering him to make a spin-off movie about Venom.
If he does come back, my only hope is they ditch the found footage angle. It was an absolute waste and took away from the film. Who says you can’t blend found footage film into a movie that isn’t found footage? Do that instead.
As for what it could be about. My guess is either a new cast with a new story or one of the characters (I won’t say who to avoid spoilers, but if you’ve seen the film you’ll know) has to take on a much larger force and actually becomes a superhero rather than some kid flying around.
